Marine One is the call sign of any United States Marine Corps aircraft (usually a helicopter) carrying the President of the United States ("POTUS"). In particular, Marine One helicopters are operated by the HMX-1 "Nighthawks" squadron and is usually the Sikorsky VH-3D Sea King modified for Presidential use.

The Sea King is a twin-engined anti-submarine warfare helicopter which is also amphibious. When flying the President, as many as five of the helicoptors will fly in formation - but will continually switch postitions inside the formation known as the "Presidential Shell Game."
